iOS disconnecting mid game with red wifi mark, but enemy can keep putting down troops

This happens to me way too often than it should, I sit at full elixir, not able to drop anything, but the enemy can keep dropping cards ? I watch him keep deploying for a whole minute while I have the red wifi mark and not able to move? How is that I can watch him deploy for a minute after I lost connection? Is this some kind of game hack people are doing to get their wins ?

This is using iphone 5s
