iOS Chest unlocking time stops while training

I had a silver chest with about 2 minutes left to finish unlocking, so I decided to play a training match while waiting for it, but after I'd finished the match, it was still 2 minutes. I thought I was wrong so I tried again, it still approx 2 minutes (with a few seconds difference when I wasn't in training).
Has anyone experienced this?
