Android Support response notification?

When support responds to an in-game support ticket, I don't seem to get any kind of notification that I can see. I mentioned this to support (in apologizing that I took so long to respond) and was told there ARE notifications and they are working correctly. So what am I missing? What does such a notification look like? I don't see anything on the Gear icon, on the Help & Support button within, or incoming in my phone's notification system. Only notice I see is if I actually drill down to the Help & Support section, then there's a flag on the chat symbol. That can't be what is meant by "notifications are working properly" can it?

Last time ive contacted support there were no notifications but what you said, the indication on the chat. So when contacting support is better to check the chat regularly
