General LAVA HOUND GLITCH: No lava pups spawned after death

Basically, the lava hound was being shot by a wizard, but then when it died, it spawned no lava pups. I was really confused and ****** at the moment because he got a crown on me but then I came back winning 2-1. The first picture shows the lava hound at low health, the second being immediately after the lava hound dies and the 3rd, being a few frames after the lava hound had died. Is this a bug or a glitch? or just that the wizard shot all the pups down when they were spreading out?
