When I play a friendly battle, both players hang at the start and nothing happens until you leave the game. When other clan members see the battle they will see it as ongoing, while it shows that the battle has been going on for very long(a few minutes to a few hours). The member that startes the friendly battle will see as if he is waiting for other people to join, while he can start a completely new battle.
