You can gain crowns before the crown chest is available. I don't know If This also is a iOS bug, but It Just happened to me.

I was playing a game about 10 minutes before the crown chest is available, Lost (2x1), and I switched the app before the end of the battle itself (so I didn't see the end match animation), but the app wasn't fully closed. When I recieved the crown chest notification, I open the app, see the supercell logo and the game load, but I already have 1 crown in crown chest.

System: Android 7.0

Network: Wi-Fi (provided by Vivo)
