General Mortar targeting bug?

before overtime, my opponent put down a mortar and during the time till it was deployed, I managed to put down 4 barbarians and they were deployed. they started moving towards the mortar before it was deployed. the mortar targeted them which is correct.

but then during overtime, same thing except i dropped a giant skeleton this time, every thing else stays the same, putting down and deploy timing, position, etc. However, it targeted my crown instead of my unit. this cost me my lost.
