Android Chest unlock time pauses

I've noticed repeatedly the chest timer pauses while I do training battles. I've really noticed it while waiting the last few minutes for the chest to unlock. I'd would be waiting for the last few minutes, so I would go into the training arena. After coming back, I would notice the timer is exactly where it was when I started the training. I'm not sure if the timer stops during friendly or global battles, but it definitely pauses during the training.
