iOS Prince Downgrade - Is this a bug or intended?

Hello,

I noticed that my Prince gets downgraded from level 4 to level 3 during "friendly battles" with clan-mates.

I wanted to ask if this is a bug or if it's intended as I was playing with someone that has almost 1000 less throphies than I do. It seemed weird to me because nothing else scaled down like that.

It'd be a cool concept if it's intended so that I could actually play my lower leveled clan-mates on even ground, but none of the other cards scale down so even when I try to play slower I still destroy everything they throw at me.

It's the rule for clan battles. Max are lvl 8 tower, lvl 8 common, lvl 6 rare, lvl 3 epic, and lvl 1 legendary.
