I've heard about few other cases like this. I don't know the exact answer but I think special chests like SMC depends on your arena not the arena you battle in it. This also might be a bug, as I said I don't have the correct answer to the issue.

On the forum nobody can help you but you can contact in-game support team and tell them to check it for you (please come back and tell us what they say about the situation):
