General Connection Issues since Patch

I've had the occasional connection issue before, but since the patch, they've been out of control. I've lost hundreds of trophies to being able to start a match but then not play any troops.

Is there a way for Supercell to put in some kind of warning that your connection might be spotty and play at your own peril?

Either that or, if it's possible to distinguish connection issues from "pulling the plug" to remove or reduce the trophy loss? I understand that there is a potential for abuse, so even a warning would be appreciated so I can know before I start the battle and wait until my reception is better.
