I had this a few times with these two card the the with and giant skeletion. You see the problem is that when i spawn them the elixer bar stops but everything is moving ok. I not sure about other cards but this could be a major issue, battles could be determined with this major bug.

Manyolo reply to Android Spawning

His happens when your elixir bar is full and you deploy a card. You wont gain elixir until your card is deployed (when the little clock on cards is gone)
