How to beat huts

The strategy of mass huts (using 2 or even 3 hut varieties and swarming troops) has become popular and is leading people to call for nerfs. Before that occurs, the question is what is the best way at present to counter mass huts? I would like you to focus on two things: what are the different WAYS you can counter it, and how EFFECTIVE are they?

I offer the following ideas to start and I will update with your suggestions:

- Attack the huts with rockets or other projectiles
- Rush the other side of their base

Attacking with projectiles

I am a bit dubious about the effectiveness of this. If you can only hit one hut and a crown tower for example, then it's usually a losing trade. If you can hit two huts together, or hit a few enemy troops at the same time it might be ok. But I don't see this being a way to punish the hut spammer. And if you can't find a way to beat them at their game, the strategy is a good one.

I can add some maths to this later.

Rushing the other side of the base

Ok, so lets say your opponent spends 7-10 elixir at the start of the game putting down huts on one side of the base. This will pressure one of your lanes. So let's say you spend a similar amount on the other side - say Prince/Dragon or Giant/Musketeer, or some combo that can take down a tower.

I don't know about you but I think I'd ruther be the hut player. Both sides can probably spend a minimal amount of elixir to fend off the attack wave in the first 30 seconds. But then the hut player gets an ongoing flow of troops for the next 30 seconds.

Can someone come up with a more reliable way to punish them by rushing the other side?

Conclusion

At this stage, we don't have a reliable way to beat the huts. Please chime in if you can improve our collective knowledge.
