General Zap not resetting inferno tower

This may or may not be a bug, but zap resets what defensive structures and towers target. I have seen many times if something else is closer to the structure and zap is used, the target resets. Why does the damage of the inferno tower not reset as well regardless if it switches targets or not? Seems like a bug to me.
