Android Game music keeps playing in background

If I go back to the homescreen without killing the app and I play/record a vocal note of WhatsApp, after I finish, the game music starts playing until I kill the game's app. This is happening since the E-Barbs got buffed, I think that maintenance break indeed broke something ingame.
Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Edit: my game is updated and so is my phone, a Moto X Style running Android 6.1
