Can any of our higher level players confirm this?

My theory is that the higher the arena level you go, the more gold and epic cards you are given in each chest.

Yes that might seem obvious, but I see a lot of people (including myself until recently) that are staying in low leagues to upgrade their earlier cards.

The way I see it, you're much better off going to the highest arena possible as this will increase the chances of getting epic cards.

In the first arena, just a level 1 epic is highly effective. By arena 4 or 5, you need those epics upgraded. But to upgrade you don't just need an extra card: the number of cards required for an upgrade grows exponentially.

TLDR: More epic cards at higher arenas to make up for the number required to upgrade.
