Android Hogs Jump At Bridges?

So I just wanted to point out this rather obvious coding glitch, but the hog rider is supposed to jump the river right? So why then does he dart to the nearest bridge?

If I place a skeleton army in the middle, closet square to enemy's main castle after taking out both corner, why do the skeletons walk a round the grass, essentially walking further? Physics proove a diagonal line is longer than a straight line, so why are the troops forced to walk in this path?

Obviously the regular troops have to funnel threw the bridges... But there is no reason why troops shouldn't be able to walk straight. Seems like it's something you guys should've fixed before releasing
