General Dragon Leaving Troop

Lately I've noticed that the dragon will target a troop and before the troops dies the dragon flies off. In this example, the dragon was dropped to counter the loon, and as you can see the dragon turned and left before the loon popped. This ended up ******** me because the loon did enough damage to take out the tower before I could counter again since I had just pushed to the top left tower myself. Anyone else noticing an issue with the dragon or another troop doing this?
