I'm not sure if anyone else has already noticed this, but if they have a) I'm sorry and b) my search didn't find it.

While opening a chest, if you battle in the training camp, the timer on the chest will freeze, meaning that time is added on to the already long opening times.

However, knowing Supercell, this is entirely intentional, so they won't fix it. Shame really...
