Coming from another popular card based game, I was excited to try out a CoC themed card/battler game. I have to say I like it better than what I thought I would. However, here are some ideas/complaints I have so far:

  • Remove timers from game - I feel like timers are unnecessary, and will eventually push a player like me away. I know it seems to be the Supercell way, but I really wish that games would start to move away from this model. I don’t like buying gems to speed up timers. I wish the chests would instantly open as soon as you tapped it. I’d totally be willing to spend money on packs of chests at that point. I just don’t want to buy gems, which are used to buy chests, which then I have to wait for who knows how long unless I spend even more gems.

    This also causes a player to stop playing the game if the timers are all active. If I’m not playing your game, then I’m playing something else, and chances are I’ll forget about your game. It’s happened to many other games out there (CoC included), and I just don’t think it needs to happen to a new game like this. Chests and gold would probably have to be unpaired for this to work, and you’d purchase chests with gold OR gems, but I feel like that would really make the game more enjoyable.
  • Mulligan - it would be nice to have some sort of way to change your starting cards. Being able to mulligan would be a great way. There could be some sort of punishment for mulliganing, or limit the player to only do it once, etc.
  • Daily quests - keeps players coming back for reasons other than to just play the game. Games can get a bit stale between content updates, and quests give the player something to do.
  • No game timeout - I know you are trying to keep the games short, but it would be nice to see the games go to completion. Even if you made another game mode for this, that would be nice.
  • No troop deploy delay - I’ve seen this mentioned elsewhere, but I don’t think this is necessary. You already wait for the elixir; why do you need to wait to deploy?
  • Multiple decks - would be nice to make multiple decks. I don’t have enough troops yet, but I can see this becoming a reality in the future.

Those are my thoughts! I really hope to see timers removed, which I know is probably a long shot, but it would really get me interested in the game.
