General Legendary/Epic Chest Cycle Glitch (?)

So, as we all know, Clash Royale goes on a chest cycle, and assuming that OrangeJuice Gaming is correct, so do SMCs. The common consensus is that Epic and Legendary chests follow the same kind of algorithm.

However, two of my clan mates have reported getting a legendary chest from ladder matches. However, the weird part, and main reason for this post is this: They also got an epic in the very next battle. These two "incidents" happened a few days apart, so this goes to show they are not a one-time bug. So, if you get the chance CRDT, please either fix this glitch, or if it was intended, say so here or through privately message.
